People with diabetes are at higher risk of corns because of their poor blood flow to the feet. Corns causes discomfort and pain when pressing them or while standing or walking.

Callus and corn are almost same with a slight difference in them that calluses are not painful, whereas corns are painful and callus can develop any part of the body, whereas, corn usually develops on feet or between the toes.

Home Remedies for Corns on Toes

There are many products available that help in getting rid of corns on feet like corn caps, corn plasters, etc. Also, there are some lotions to apply to them that can also treat them. There are some good home remedies for corns on toes.

1. Baking Soda

Baking Soda heals the corn by removing the dead skin that covers the corn. It is a natural exfoliating agent that has antifungal and antibacterial properties. These properties help in keeping the skin infection and bacteria free.

Take two tablespoons of baking soda and add it to a half tub of warm water. Soak your feet or the affected area in this water. Now, after 10-12 minutes rub the corn with a pumice stone and slowly-slowly remove the dead skin.

Repeat the same process daily once or twice until you get the result or until the corn disappears.

2. Turpentine Oil

A strong antiseptic oil that penetrates into the skin and treats the corn faster. The method of applying turpentine oil is very simple and easy. Simply, take an ice cube and wrap it in a cloth. Now, massage the affected area or the corn with this wrapped ice cube for some time.

Now, pat dries the area and put some oil and then rub the corn slowly with your fingertips. After rubbing it for few minutes, put a bandage over the corn and leave it for 6-7 hours. It is advisable to do this at night before going to bed. Repeat the same process daily until it gets cured.

3. Lemon to Get Rid of Corns on Feet

Another best and the simplest home remedy to get rid of corns on feet is lemon. Lemon has citric acid that helps in softening the hard skin. This will help in softening the hard skin that makes corn so that the corn falls out.

Simply take few drops of lemon juice and massage with it on the corn for 4-5 minutes and then leave it there to dry. Repeat this process at least thrice a day until you the corn falls out.

4. Licorice

In earlier times, licorice was used for treating wounds, boils or corns because of it fast healing and medicinal properties. Simply take one tablespoon of licorice powder and mix one teaspoon of mustard oil to mix it thick like a paste.

Now, apply this paste on the corn and put a bandage over it. Leave it overnight and then wash it next morning with lukewarm water. Repeat the same process until the corn becomes soft and falls out.

5. Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the best home remedies for corn. It is also helpful for your overall health as it has many health benefits because of anti-inflammatory nature. It reduces the pain, discomfort and also treats the corn faster.

Take one teaspoon of turmeric powder and add one teaspoon of honey to it. Mix them and make a thick paste. Apply this turmeric honey paste on the corn and leave it to dry. Repeat the same process daily twice or thrice a day until you get relief.
